Gains in Asia and Latin America STB Markets Won’t Offset Declines in N. America, W. Europe

Campbell, Calif.,  November 1, 2013--Market research firm Infonetics Research released excerpts from its 2nd quarter 2013 (2Q13) Set-Top Boxes and Pay TV Subscribers market share and forecast report, which tracks IP, cable, satellite, and digital terrestrial (DTT) set-top boxes (STBs) and over-the-top (OTT) media servers.

Smartphone Shipments Reach a Record 250 mil. in Q3 2013

Hampshire, UK, October 29,  2013--Leading hi-tech mobile analysts Juniper Research estimates that the number of smartphone shipments exceeded a quarterly record of 250 million in Q3 2013, representing a y-o-y growth of almost 49% from Q3 2012, and q-o-q growth of 10%. Samsung now accounts for a third of all smartphones shipped with an estimated 85 million smartphones – a record for the company. The company reported a 26% growth in profit, driven by an increase of smartphone sales in both Premium and Economy segments.

Survey Shows that 3/4 of U.S. Consumers not Planning to Buy Smart TVs
