London, UK, October 3, 2020--The GVF Webinar Series has been an innovative response to the dictates of a variously locked down world and its various themes have been well received by a global audience. Whilst, as noted in my previous column, 69 has been the least number of countries dialing-in to any one individual Zoom event, the total number of nations reached across the series to date has now exceeded 120.

Moscow, Russia, October 1, 2020--The 25th anniversary international conference of operators and users of satellite communication networks of the Russian Federation "SАTCOMRUS 2020" will be held on October 8, 2020 online as a virtual event. The event is organized by Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC) and will be held online for the first time.

Singapore, September 18, 2020 – The Asia Video Industry Association (AVIA) will be hosting this year’s Satellite Industry Forum (SIF) as a virtual conference, taking place over two days, from 24 – 25 September, 930am – 1130am (SGT). As Asia’s leading satellite conference, the theme of Video in the Satellite World will look at the key conversations driving the industry today, with industry leaders sharing their thoughts on The State of the Satellite Industry with the Impact of COVID-19,  a view on Asia with the outcomes from WRC-19, and weighing the Bear vs Bull Case for 5G.

Washington, D.C., September 9, 2020 -- National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) President and CEO Gordon Smith announced today that the NAB Show now scheduled for October 9–13, 2021 in Las Vegas. Smith issued the following letter to the NAB Show community regarding plans for the 2021 NAB Show:

The 69 countries referred to is the least number of nations we have had consistently dialing-in to recent webinars in the GVF’s Webinar Series, organized in association with Satellite Evolution Group. In my previous column I overviewed the series, which is broadcast over Zoom on alternate Thursdays, starting at 1500 hours/3.00pm (London).
