London, UK, April 1, 2020--The global spread of coronavirus, and the impact of the COVID-19 disease it causes, is changing our world.  GVF is acutely sensitive to this impact.  As the global association of the satellite industry, we are responding to the effects the virus is having on our Members’ operations by exploring ways to increase the digital exposure of our Members’ news, products and services, while also creating digital learning opportunities that add to our already existing suite of online training courses and certifications.

Washington, D.C., March 20, 2020--The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) has decided not to hold the NAB show this year and instead announced the launched of NAB Show Express to launch in April 2020. This digital experience will provide a conduit for exhibitors to share product information, announcements and demos, as well as deliver educational content from the original selection of programming slated for the live show in Las Vegas, and create opportunities for the community to interact virtually.

Washington, D.C. March 19, 2020--The industry's premier show, Satellite 2020 held from March 9-11 in Washington D.C., was almost a surreal experience. I don’t know the precise numbers, but from walking around the show floor, I would guess that attendance was down by 30-50%.  There were large gaps where booths should have been.

Washington, D.C. March 11, 2020--The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB)  is contemplating several options after it announced that it is calling off the 2020 NAB Show amid concerns regarding the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. The NAB is considering  moving their flgaship show to the summer or expanding autumn's NAB Show New York.

Dubai, UAE, March 9, 2020--CABSAT, the Middle East & Africa’s leading event for content creation, production & broadcast and satellite & distribution is postponed from 31 March – 2 April to 26 – 28 October 2020 due to concerns over the coronavirus outbreak.

Singapore, March 6, 2020 – In light of global concerns due to the on-going Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, Informa Markets, organiser of ConnecTechAsia, which incorpoates CommunicAsia, is postponing the 2020 edition to 29 September – 1 October 2020 at the Singapore EXPO & MAX Atria. The event was originally scheduled for 9 - 11 June 2020 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

Washington, D.C., March 5, 2020--Satellite 2020, the industry's premier event will go on as scheduled from Monday, March 9-12 according to the organizers. Booth set-up begins today.  "We confirm that SATELLITE 2020 will take place as planned.  Our duty to the community is to foster an environment that encourages business discussions among many sectors and continue progression of innovation in the satellite and space industries," said show director Lindsay Fuller.

The association is closely monitoring COVID-19, commonly known as coronavirus, and is prepared to devote whatever resources necessary to ensure a safe and productive NAB Show experience.
