Triple-Play Revenues to Reach US$ $205 billion in 2018

London, UK, December 2, 2013--Telcos and cable operators are investing heavily in their networks to upgrade their subscribers to bundles (triple-play or double-play). These operators will reap the rewards of this investment as total subscription revenues (pay TV (including on-demand), broadband and fixed-line telephony) will increase by 65% from $124 billion in 2012 to $205 billion in 2018, according to the Triple-Play Forecasts report from Digital TV Research.

Teal Group Identifies 3,164 Space Payloads Proposed For Launch To 2032 With An Estimated Value Of More Than US$235 Billion

New York City, November 25, 2013 — Coinciding with the SATCON Satellite Communications Conference & Expo held here November 13-14 at the Javits Convention Center, Teal Group space analysts have identified 3,164 space payloads proposed to be built and launched to earth or deep space orbits between 2013 and 2032. They estimate the value of these satellites and other space payloads at more than US$ 235 billion.

High Throughput Satellites Expanding into New Markets to Reach $ 5.6 Billion by 2022

European Pay TV Operator Forecasts

London, UK, November 13, 2013--Pay TV subscriptions for the 102 operators across 26 countries covered in a new report from Digital TV Research will increase from a collective 105.8 million in 2008 to 131.9 million in 2012 and onto 147.1 million by 2018. The European Pay TV Operator Forecasts report estimates that these operators represented 85% of European pay TV subscribers by end-2012.

Ericsson Mobility Report: Global Smartphone Subscriptions to reach 5.6 billion by 2019

Stockholm, Sweden,  November 11, 2013--The latest Ericsson Mobility Report reveals that mobile subscriptions are expected to reach 9.3 billion by 2019, and more than 60 percent of these - 5.6 billion - will be for smartphones. To support the smartphone user experience, WCDMA/HSPA networks are predicted to cover 90 percent of the world's population by 2019. Moreover, almost two-thirds (65 percent) of the world's population will be covered by 4G/LTE networks.  

North American Households with 4K TVs Expected to Reach 10% by End of 2018
