Prospects in the OTT Via Satellite Market

At the same time,  it has also created opportunities for the satellite companies to innovate and experiment by integrating satellite solutions in various video market verticals.

 

Omdia Projects 10 million Satellite-connected IoT devices by 2025 with Revenues Reaching US$ 544 million

London, UK, March 30, 2020--Satellite-connected internet of things (IoT) devices are expected to rise to more than 10 million by 2025, according to Omdia. The installed base of satellite IoT connections will increase by nearly a factor of four in the coming years, expanding at a 25 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from 2.7 million units in 2019 to reach 10.3 million units in 2025, as reported by the Omdia Satellite IoT Market Report – 2020 report.

Asia Pacific Set for 417 million SVOD Subs

London, UK, March 30, 2020--Despite the negative impact from the coronavirus and the Chinese economic downturn, Asia Pacific will have 417 million SVOD subscriptions by 2025, up from 269 million in 2019. China will have 269 million SVOD subscriptions in 2025 – or 65% of the region’s total. India will supply a further 45 million – more than double its 2019 total according to Digital TV Research.

Coronavirus Expected to Add 5% to Global Video-on-Demand Subscriptions In 2020

Boston, Mass., March 26, 2020--Strategy Analytics has recently published its latest forecast for Subscription Video-on-Demand (SVOD) services such as Netflix. The forecast took account of the expected impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and although the longer term impact clearly remains uncertain, early evidence suggests that a boost to SVOD usage globally can be expected. As a result the forecast for global subscriptions was increased by 5% in comparison to the pre-pandemic model. The projection is now 949 million paid subscriptions globally by the end of 2020, suggesting an increase of 47 million compared to earlier forecasts.

London, UK, March 20, 2020-The Asia Pacific Pay TV sector is the most vibrant in the world, with subscribers up by 45 million and revenues up by US$ 1.40 billion over the next five years according to Digital TV Research. Pay TV penetration will stay at around 69%.

Latin America SVOD Subscriptions to Double

London, UK, March 16, 2020--Latin America will have 81 million SVOD subscriptions by 2025; almost double the 42 million recorded at end-2019 according to Digital TV Research. This growth comes despite the recession affecting most countries in the region. 

Cumulative 10-year Forecast for HTS Satellite to Reach US$ 85 Bil. by 2028

Paris, France, March 10,  2020–In its latest research titled, “High Throughput Satellites: Vertical Market Analysis & Forecasts,” Euroconsult projects that High Throughput Satellite (HTS) revenue will reach $15 billion by 2028 with aggregate capacity leasing revenue over the 10 year period reaching $85 billion by 2028. Demand will be driven by nine vertical markets for a 26 percent annual growth rate over the ten-year period covered in the report. Supply is expected to grow by 12 times between 2019 and 2024.
