AMOS-6 Scheduled for May 2016 Launch by Space-X

Tel Aviv, Israel, February 1, 2016--Spacecom (Tel Aviv Stock Exchange: SCC), the operator of the AMOS satellite fleet, announced that Space-X has scheduled the launch of the AMOS-6 satellite for May 2016. AMOS-6, to be co-located with AMOS-2 and AMOS-3 at the 4°W prime orbital position, will provide services to Western, Central and Eastern Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Its Ka-band beams have been selected by Facebook to be the satellite backbone of its initiative to bring broadband Internet to Sub Sahara Africa with Eutelsat.

Bluesky and ABS Enhance Internet Connectivity for Samoa and the Pacific

Bermuda, January 28, 2016–ABS and Bluesky Pacific Group (Bluesky) have signed a multi-transponder contract on ABS-6. The multi-year capacity deal will offer expanded satellite connectivity services across the Samoan islands and the Pacific.

Globecast extends Channel One Russia’s Reach Across Europe and Asia

Moscow, Russia, January 19, 2016 Globecast, the global solutions provider for media, has been chosen by Russian broadcaster Channel One to help them reach the European market (via HotBird) and Asia (via AsiaSat 5), extending its reach to new audiences. Globecast is providing dual illumination on HotBird with an MPEG-4 channel in addition to the existing MPEG-2 service it provides for the broadcaster.

FSMTC expands bandwidth connectivity with ABS to underserved regions of Micronesia

Bermuda, January 18, 2016 – ABS announced today at PTC 2016 that FSM Telecommunications Corporation (FSMTC) has extended its partnership with ABS for the ABS-6 satellite.   FSMTC has contracted additional capacity to provide connectivity to its neighbouring islands in the Micronesia states.   The contract follows shortly after the initial agreement in July 2015.
