London, UK, February 2, 2014--My previous column for Satellite Executive Briefing noted that I would be providing an update to the next event in the GVF-EMP Partnership Conference Portfolio, which takes place in London on 11^th & 12^th February. Connectivity 2014: Creating the New “New” Verticals – Air, Water, Surface & Rail (www.uk-emp.co.uk/emp-home/current-events/connectivity-2014/) is expected to be the first in a new series of the Portfolio, adding to the current series of conferences covering Oil & Gas Communications, Broadband Maritime Communications, and High Throughput Satellites.

London, UK, January 6, 2014--In my previous column  I previewed GVF High Throughput Satellites 2013: Game-Changer in Action - The London Roundtable. I am very pleased to report that several participants in this latest program in the GVF-EMP Conference Partnership portfolio described the event as “A very successful conference, by any standard.” Here, in this contribution to the final edition of 2013, I wish to provide you, the reader, with the means to access at least some of the flavor of the series of great dialogs which took place in London on 5^th and 6^th December 2013. Then, as follow-on, I intend to provide you with some advance notice of upcoming events in the GVF calendar for the first quarter of 2014.

New York City, December 11, 2013 -- IEEE GLOBECOM 2013 being held from December 9 – 13 in Atlanta, Georgia, was highlighted on Tuesday evening by the Dialogue with Industry Executives featuring the perspectives and visions of senior communications professionals representing leading Atlanta-based communications organizations. Tino Mantella, the president of the Technology Association of Georgia and session’s moderator, led the discussion that focused on topics ranging from new big data, video delivery and connectivity trends to industry employment tips and the emerging use of drones in consumer communications.
