London, UK, October 7, 2011--As reported in my previous column, for the satellite industry the recent IBC show in Amsterdam kicked-off with a September 8^th  pre-event Summit of critical importance to the industry and to the wider satellite communications end-user community – the International Satellite Industry Forum on “Interference - The Counter Offensive”. Much has happened since this Summit, and key aspects of the RFI mitigation agenda set-out in this meeting continue to be explored, explained, and actioned around the world.

Hong Kong, October 7, 2011-CASBAA today revealed an enhanced speaker lineup for the CASBAA Convention 2011. Themed TV365: Watch Closely!, the show will be staged in Hong Kong, October 31^st - November 3^rd at the Grand Hyatt. “The powerful line-up drawn from networks, governments, ad agencies and media, reflects the importance of CASBAA’s role as the voice of multichannel TV in Asia”, said Simon Twiston Davies, CEO, CASBAA. “From industry leaders to key analysts, our annual Convention attracts the best of business through the exchange of essential information and innovative ideas.”

Paris, September 26, 2011-- Although the overall mood at the Satellite Business Week conference in Paris organized by Euroconsult was not as ebullient as it has been in the last couple of years it was none the less generally positive.

Amsterdam, September 15, 2011—This is not your  father’s IBC.  Like  most industry shows,  the IBC is evolving and it’s getting harder to distinguish traditionally broadcast-oriented shows like the IBC in Amsterdam and the NAB in Las Vegas with the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) and other shows dealing with content delivery and management.

Singapore, June 30, 2011--There was a noticeably strong presence from the satellite sector in the recently concluded CommunicAsia2011, held concurrently with BroadcastAsia 2011, with CEOs from all the major satellite operators speaking at the conferences and a record 110 satellite companies exhibiting at both shows. 

Singapore, June 25, 2011--More than 56,000 industry visitors, conference speakers and delegates, exhibiting staff and media from around the world attended CommunicAsia2011 and BroadcastAsia2011 between 21 – 24 June. “Each year we endeavour to evolve the content, offerings and format of CommunicAsia and BroadcastAsia, and exhibitors and visitors continue to endorse our efforts through their regular participation in the shows,” said Mr. Stephen Tan, Chief Executive of show organiser, Singapore Exhibition Services (SES).
